Question:
I looking for a replacement hub for a Dexter 2800 lb axle. The original part was marked 8-288. 5 on 4-1/2inch bolt centers. Do you stock this hub? If not can this be ordered direct from Dexter? Thanks,

To find the correct replacement hub for a Dexter axle we will need some more information. The bearing numbers on the wheal bearings will give us information needed. The attached diagram will show where to find these numbers and also where to measure if by chance your bearings numbers are missing. Using a digital caliper like # PTW80157 can help when trying to find the correct spindle or I.D. measurements of your wheel bearings.
Once we have these numbers we can verify what the size axles you have and what hub will be the correct replacement. I have attached a link to the hubs we carry that have the 5 on 4-1/2 inch wheel bolt pattern for you to review.
Unfortunately, the 8-288 number that you supplied did not cross to any of the hubs that we carry with the 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern.
