We can set you up with everything you'll need to install a roof rack or cargo carrier on your 2007 Chevy HHR. I recommend going with a hitch-mounted cargo carrier over a roof rack; the only instance in which the rack has an advantage is installation. Aside from that, you will likely find more uses for a hitch, and even if you only use it to haul cargo, it is going to be easier to use a hitch-mounted carrier than a rooftop box.

To use a hitch-mounted cargo box, you will first need to install a hitch, and I recommend the Draw-Tite Sportframe, # 24756. This is a Class I rated, 1-1/4 inch hitch which is bolted on so you can avoid drilling into your Chevy HHR. For a basket-style cargo carrier, I recommend the Curt, # C18145, which has inside-the-carrier dimensions of 46-3/8 inches long x 17-9/16 inches wide x 5-1/2 inches tall and a weight capacity of 300 lbs on a 1-1/4 inch hitch.

Each of the roof racks we have available are going to require your 2007 Chevy HHR to have the factory installed side rails; should you have those and decide to go with a roof rack, the rack I recommend going with is the Inno, which consists of the crossbars, # INB107, and the mounting kit, # INFR.

This rack is a confirmed fit for your '07 HHR and installs easily onto your vehicle's raised side rails. The crossbars are square, measuring 42 inches long x 7/8 inches tall x 1-1/4 inches wide and will handle a capacity of up to 220 lbs, though that may be limited if your HHR's roof is rated to hold a lower capacity.

You can use a rooftop cargo box on these rails, such as the Thule Sidekick, # TH78GC. This box has a carrying capacity of eight cubic feet, a weight capacity of 75 lbs and will fit onto square crossbars such as the Inno's.
