The B and W Patriot hitch # BWRVK3200 is very similar to the B and W Companion hitch but instead it is designed to fit industry standard rails which are the more common rails you see installed in the bed of trucks.

For a custom rail kit confirmed as a fit for your 2007 Ford F-250 we then have the part # BWRVK2400 which would work well.

Will a patriot head fit on a companion base?

The Patriot and Companion heads aren't interchangeable - they do have different attachment designs so you wouldn't be able to fit a Patriot head on a Companion base. If you want to switch to the Companion hitch, you'll need to go with the full system # BWRVK3500.
