We have several hitch receivers available for your 2001 Dodge Dakota. All of which are compatible with regular, club, and quad cab models.
I recommend using the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13280 as this is a custom fit hitch specifically designed for your truck. It is a CLASS III hitch capable of towing a trailer up to 5,000 lbs. You will also need a wiring harness in order to activate your trailer's light circuit such as the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # 118329 for trucks without the factory tow package or the Multi-Plug T-One Connector Assembly for 7-Way & 4 Pole Trailer Connector part # 20135 for trucks with the factory tow package.
We have installation videos for both the hitch and wiring harness on a 2001 Dodge Dakota.
