Is Small Bracket On Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch For Mounting an Electrical Connector, 2011 Kia Sportage

Published 03/09/2011

Question:

Hi, Im interested in purchasing the DrawTite #75711 hitch, for my 2011 Kia Sportage. I will replace a 1 1/4 dealer installed Kia hitch which already includes all the wiring. This hitch has a metal tab attached to the hitch frame, next to the receiver box. The existing electrical plug mounts to this tab with two screws. The picture of the DrawTite #75711 shows a square tab with two holes, to the left of the receiver box. Is this tab intended as a mount point for an electrical plug? Would my existing plug fit here? The holes in my plug are approximately 2 1/4 apart. Thanks,

Yes, the tab is intended to mount the electrical trailer connector.

Your electric trailer connector will mount up to the bracket just as it did on the factory hitch of your 2011 Kia Sportage.

There is also another hole that will allow for mounting a smaller sized bracket, the spacing measured 1-3/4 inches on center.
