Does hitch Installation on 2017 Mercedes Benz GLC Allow Hands Free Liftgate to Function

Will this hitch interfere with the sensor for the hands free operation of the tailgate on my 2017 Mercedes Benz GLC?

I spoke to my contact at Curt and he said that the hitch part # C13290 will still allow the powered liftgate of your 2017 Mercedes Benz GLC to function. He said that as long as you don't put your foot directly under the hitch opening it will still function.
At worst you would just have to kick to the sides of the hitch opening.
