For your truck, I recommend the Convert-A-Ball Cushioned, 6-Way, Multi-Hitch Ball Mount for 2" Hitches - 10,000 lbs # CAB-6W to allow you to pull your generator with a lunette ring. This cushioned ball mount will protect your truck's driveline and hitch assembly by acting as a shock absorber.
Another option is to use the Curt Pintle Hook Mounting Plate for 2" Hitches - 8-1/4" Shank - 8 Hole - 10,000 lbs # C48324 along with the Curt Pintle Hook - Bolt On - 10,000 lbs # C48205.
I recommend using a hitch lock, like the Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock - Flush Design for 2" Trailer Hitches # e98880 to protect your investment.
