Question:
I just installed Kodiak disk brakes on my 5th wheel and tow with a 2014 Ford F350 Dually with IBC and it is slow to start applying the brakes, that is the truck brakes do all the work until we start to slow down, I want to replace the built in one for a prodigy P3. It acts like th IBC is time delayed but I am told it is proportional. The question I have is do I unplug the factory plug and plug in the prodigy into it thus making the integrated brake controller powered down and useless?

Helpful Expert Reply:
Many OEM brake controllers like that in your 2014 ford F-350 will not work well with Electric over Hydraulic Systems. Installing the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 will help make your system function properly. It will replace your factory controller and will install with the plug-in adapter # 3034-P. It will throw a code, and you will need to take your truck to the dealer to have them clear it. I've attached an article explaining what needs to be done.
