Hi, will the Pop and Lock PL8340 work on a 2007 Dodge 2500 Mega Cab short bed or will I need the wire extension? Thanks!

Since you have a short bed truck you would not need the extension so for your 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 the correct locking tailgate latch is the # PAL8340 that you referenced.
