Is The Yakima Frontloader Bike Carrier Compatible with Factory Crossbars on 2012 Infiniti EX35

Updated 03/06/2017 | Published 03/03/2017

Question:

Will the Yakima Frontloader work on my 2012 Infiniti EX35 not FX35? I installed OEM crossbars but the spread is only 16inch measured open space between the two bars. The roof is sloped so Im concerned about there being too much pull and twist, esp. on rough roads. I have a 29inch MTB and a 700cc road-style bike. Total weight of bike and carrier estimated at 50 lbs crossbars say they are limited to 100 but even that seems like a lot for them. Any thoughts appreciated.

As long as the distance between the two crossbars on the roof of your 2012 Infiniti EX35 is at least 16 inches, the Yakima FrontLoader Wheel Mount Bike Carrier # Y02103 will work great for transporting your bikes. I confirmed with Yakima that there will be no problem with this carrier working on the roof of your EX35. The carrier has a capacity of 1 bike and can hold bikes with wheels from 20 inches - 29 inches. I have included a video demonstration of this rack for you to review.

I verified that the weight capacity of the OEM crossbars on your EX35 is 100 pounds. I also just recommend checking the roof capacity of your vehicle as listed in the owner's manual.

Lastly, I recommend adding the Yakima Same Key System Lock Cores # Y07202 to secure your bike to the rack.
