How to Determine the Wiring Functions of a Vehicle to Install Diode Tow Bar Wiring Kit

Question:

Hi we have a 2006 Honda Odyssey that we will be towing behind our RV. I want to but the tail light diode wiring harness to be able to use the Odyssey brake lights when braking the RV. How do I find out the wire color / location to splice into the Odysseys lights? Thanks.

To install a diode tow bar wiring kit like the part # RM-154 you will have to use a circuit tester to test the wires that run to the vehicle taillights and then attach the diode wiring by function to them.

I attached an install video that shows the process on a somewhat similar Honda for you to check out and get the idea how it's done.
