Question:
I am trying to adapt a flattend rectangle style class 1 hitch receiver to a 2inch square receiver. Is there anything that could be used to fit that purpose?

All of the hitch receivers and receiver accessories that we offer are square, not rectangle. Since the receiver that you mentioned likely doesn't exist anymore, I recommended installing a new hitch so that you can use a variety of accessories.
If you have the Sedan the recommend hitch is the Curt Class II # C12009. This trailer also has a Gross Trailer Weight of 3,500 lbs and a Gross Tongue Weight of 350 lbs.
If your Roadmaster is an Estate Wagon then it would have taken the Curt C12041 hitch which is no longer available.
