On your 2012 Mitsubishi Outlander, the installation of the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118518 should not have drained your battery if wired correctly. I've attached an installation video for you.
You may have a power draw somewhere in your system if it won't start after a prolonged period after installation issue. If it won't start immediately after installation, you will need to check your power connections. If you power connections are solid, I suggest charging your battery and then having it checked. If it is your original battery in the vehicle, it may have just been on the edge before the install.
