Is Trimming Of Fascia On 2017 Chevrolet Spark Required When Installing Trailer Hitch

Updated 01/05/2017 | Published 01/04/2017

Question:

I am interested in a hitch for a Chevy Spark 2017. I looked at the instructions for your Curt model and it says you have to cut the bumper fascia, but in the last photo it shows the hitch connection below the bumper. Which is correct? Do you have one where you dont have to cut the fascia?

You are correct. The photos of the trailer hitch installations do appear as though the hitch receiver is below the fascia. Since the fascia wraps under the vehicle the trimming is done on the underside so the receiver can fit.

I have attached a photo of the fascia that shows how much is trimmed on the underside for the Curt Hitch, part # C11433. This is a Class l and has a 1-1/4 inch receiver opening.

Curt requires a stabilizing strap like part # 18050 for all non-trailer loads, like bike racks or cargo carriers.
