How Does the Clearance Light MCL76AB Normally Wire Into Running Light Circuit
Published 12/29/2016 >
Question:
I purchased the optronics tail lights for my boat trailer. After reviewing the required equipment for my state, I will need additional lighting in the front. I like the MCL76AB because they are reflexive and have a lot of power. However, I am not sure of the wiring requirements. Will I be able to use the existing wires for the tail lights to provide power to the side marker lights? In other words, can I tap into the existing wires for the trailer to provide power to the MCL76AB lights? Thank you! Returning customer

Expert Reply:
Since the clearance light part # MCL76AB that you are interested in is LED it could easily be wired into the running light circuit of your trailer and not cause any problems. What you would need to do is splice the black wire into the running light circuit and then ground the white wire and it would function well for you.
