To carry bikes on your 2016 Mercedes-Benz GL 450 you will need a hitch mounted rack because we don't have any trunk mounts that are confirmed to fit. If you don't already have a trailer hitch receiver we have the Curt Class III # C13190. This is a 2 inch receiver that is confirmed to fit your Mercedes.
For a bike rack, the Thule Hitching Post Pro, part # TH934XTR, is my choice for you. It holds up to 4 bikes and has anti-sway cradles. It's a tilting rack as well which will help you be able to access the rear cargo area of your Mercedes. I've linked a review video for you to take a look at.
