You have several options to use a bike rack on your 2016 Honda HR-V.

For starters, if you don't already have a trailer hitch, you can add the EcoHitch # 306-X7322 and use a hitch bike rack. I like the Thule Hitching Post Pro # TH934XTR. It's a great reliable rack that doesn't break the bank.

Another option is a trunk mount rack like the Yakima FullBack 3 # Y02633 which is confirmed to fit. The FullBack has vehicle specific settings that make it much easier to setup than some other racks. With a hanging rack like this you may want something to help the bikes ride level if they don't have a top cross tube like a men's bike typically does. The Kuat Uber Bike Frame Adapter Bar # UB01 will help with this.

One more option is a roof rack. If your HR-V has nothing on its roof already then the Thule WingBar Traverse Aero Bar Roof Rack is a great option. It consists of:
