Longer Battery Bolt Terminal Extender Recommendation
Updated 11/08/2016 | Published 11/07/2016 >
Question:
I just purchased some GM battery terminal extenders. However they do not fit into the rubber hole on the terminal cable where the original terminal bolt was. I removed the original side-terminal battery bolt, but the rubber hole is too small to be able to the new terminal extender far enough for the treads to reach into the battery. It is the hex part of the bolt that does not fit into the rubber hole. Do I have to cut away the rubber? I need the extenders to install a brake controller.

Sounds like you are in need of the part # DW05417. This is a longer bolt extender that has the threaded section longer to allow an easier install. I am not sure which one you have though but I would not recommend trimming back the battery.
