Can Using Heavier Gauge Wire Allow NOCO GenPro to Extend Wiring Past 10 Feet

Question:

I have the NOCO genius GenPro 10x4 I read in one of the other replies that extending the lead more than the 10’ it will get a voltage drop. If I increase the wire size to a 12 gauge or even a 10 gauge would that work to go a little longer? I need to extend two of them about 12 feet. Also I was going to install terminal blocks so that I don’t have to cut the existing ring terminals off.

Hey Marc, yes if you were to extend the wiring of the NOCO Genius GenPro using a much heavier gauge wire you wouldn't have to worry about as much voltage drop since there wouldn't be the same amount of resistance due to the thicker gauge wire. I'd go with 10 gauge wire like the part # 10-1-1 which we sell by the foot.

Hey Marc, how did things go with extending the NOCO Genius GenPro leads using the 10-gauge wire? Your results could really help others trying to reduce voltage drop on longer runs.
