Weight Distribution System Recommendation for Reducing Sag on 2007 Chevy Silverado When Towing

Published 11/02/2016

Question:

I recently purchased the timber helpers package that had the 1inch spacer w/ it, works but still saging when i have a heavy load on. The reason i got that package was because had already put a 3.5 suspension lift on the truck w/ add a leaf spring. My questiom is would this make a differnce?

Actually what you want is a weight distribution system instead of additional suspension support. What's great about weight distribution systems is that they not only reduce suspension sag but since they distribute some of the weight to the front axle of the tow vehicle they greatly help suspension sag and improve braking.

The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow. This figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached a help article on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well. You will want the loaded tongue weight of your setup to fall right in the middle of the tongue weight range of the system you use.

Once you know your tongue weight you will want to check out the link I attached that has all of the weight distribution systems we carry. You will be able to select your tongue weight from the filters to see what would be rated for your setup.
