Question:
I need a an atv trailer with a single axle 3500. It has a Carlise 20.5 -8 - 10 load raged E 1650lb with 4 ply tread and 2 ply nylon cord. It has a 10 x 6 5 bolt rim. they are only 4 years old and dont think I need to replace them but would like to get a spare on a rim. Do you think that it is logical to get just replacement tires and can I just get the tire and not the rim.

When selecting a spare tire for your trailer it would be best to select a tire and wheel combination and mount it to the trailer so it will be ready and with you in the unfortunate event of a tire failure. Most 5 lug trailer wheels have a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern. The Kenda 205/65-10 Bias Trailer Tire with 10 inch White Wheel - 5 on 4-1/2 - Load Range E, item # AM3H480, would be a good choice for a for a spare wheel and tire combination. To determine the correct bolt pattern for your trailer, we have an Faq article that shows exactly how to measuer, see link. The tire could be mounted to the trailer using a spare tire mount to match your trailer construction, see link.
If you are replacing the tires then the best way to go would be to purchase tires and have them mounted and balanced locally. The Loadstar K399 Bias Trailer Tire - 205/65-10 - Load Range E, item # AM1HP56, that you referenced is the tire only, and will fit a 10 inch by 6 inch rim.
The load range E tires in the 205/65-10 size are rated for 1650 lbs. at 90 psi. You should be sure that the total weight of the trailer and all contents do not exceed the 3,300 pound capacity of the tires. Trailer tires are designed to be ran at max pressure due to thicker sidewalls for load carrying. The tires recommended should be ran at 90 psi for the most carrying capacity and longest tire life.
