Can Aluminum Door Hinge PLR1005 be Used as a Hinge for a Trailer Ramp
Updated 10/21/2016 | Published 10/20/2016 >
Question:
Hi, I am looking for a replacement hinge for an aluminum trailer 5x8 with a 48inch drive up ramp. I would ideally like to be able to fold the ramp over flat onto the bed of the trailer during empty transport. Would you recommend this hinge or another type? Thanks- PS- the current hinge continues to break from the weight of the gate during highway travel.

Hinge # PLR1005 could work but you would need to use several of them. this is because this is a door hinge and a ramp will be heavier. That could be why you are having problems with the existing hinge(s); there just aren't enough to support the weight. But if you used 4 of # PLR1005 then that should support the weight. The more the better!
