Trailer Wiring Harness Recommendation for 2014 Honda CR-V

Published 10/10/2016

Question:

Im looking at an adapter for trailer lights for a 2014 honda crv. The converter box or whatever has a ground, right and left turn signal and tail lights. How does it get break lights out of that. Years ago I had switching boxes that did that that kept burning out. Then I wired the break lights separate and wired direct. I have a new crv now, can I get an adapter to connect everything separate? I have a general class ham license and know how to to solder wires.

For trailer wiring for your 2014 Honda CR-V we have the part # 118561 which is a custom fit harness specifically for your vehicle. Honda designed a port in your vehicle that has all of the turn signal functions present on one connector that this harness plugs directly into to provide you with a 4-way.

The box does all the needed signal light converting. Without getting overly technical it basically senses when the various turn signals are applied and then puts the correct voltage on the pins of the 4-way. I attached an install video for the harness for you to check out as well.
