Is Trimming Required for the TorkLift StableLoad TLA7202 on a 2013 GMC Sierra 3500

Question:
Hi guys . I have a GMC 3500 HD dually. I had the upper torque lift A7202 installed and I noticed that the block itself lines up with the tabs on the factorys mount but it forces the block to be perpendicular to the overload leaf spring and not parallel like all images of your product shows . Is this OK? And also I see that trimming may create a more even contact point with overload leaf spring . Not supper concerned about that because over time Im sure it will wear to the correct shape anyway however the block A7202 is in contact all the time with overload spring even with no load on the truck Just worried about the block A7202 being mounted perpendicular to the over load leaf spring

You are going to want to trim the block down about an inch. We have seen this issue before on similar GMC trucks and if you don't trim the block down the suspension is going to feel incredibly rough. If you trim about an inch off and match the angle of the block to the spring it will work like it is supposed to.

What tool do you suggest to use to "trim" block? I have a 2012 3500 srw. How important is it to trim with angle of spring? I'm concerned with making sure overload makes contact the same as it would with oem pads. Right now my rear is engaged but front is not with oem pads.
