Question:

Timbren Active Off-Road Bumpstops - Rear Suspension - 6,000 lbs Code: TABSTORSEQ What is the length from the mounting plate to the rubber end that engages with the axle? How much of an air gap can be expected with a new vehicle, stock suspension, unloaded? How much axle travel before the bumpstops start doing their progressive work?

Expert Reply:

The installation instructions state that the bump stops are installed with 1/2 to 1-1/2 inches of space between the rubber spring and the contact point on pick-up trucks and vans. That is the amount of travel before it makes contact and starts to cushion the ride.

The total height of the system from the mounting plate to the bottom of the rubber spring is right at 5 inches.
