Question:

Want to purchase platform bike rack for 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe with 2 inch class 3 hitch. The bikes are Fugi 7 speed pedal forward which weight around 33-34 pound each. Are trying to decide between XTC or Chinook like the locking feature but am concerned about different in maximum wheel base. The XCT appears to have a maximum wheelbase of 66inch whereas the Chinooks wheelbase is only 50. The wheelbase of the bikes are 47-48. If we order the XCT, we are concerned about being at the upper end of the weight limit of 70 pounds. What would you advise. Thanks..

If I was choosing between the Chinook # S64683 and the XTC # S64670 I would go with the Chinook all day. It is a better bike rack and doesn't cost much more. The wheel cradle design is more secure and stable, the straps are easier to use since they ratchet, and the hooks lock into place to deter bike theft.

Your wheelbase and bike weights are also perfectly compatible with this bike rack as well.
