Question:
I have a 2014 Yukon SLT and a travel trailer that weighs 5000 lbs dry. We got stuck on a steep mountain road and my yukon just stoped moving and my transmission temp was up to 240 degrees! I assumed my Yukon was rated to tow 8400 lbs but after this happened I researched more and found that I have the 3.08 axle ratio and no transmission cooler or oil cooler only the basic trailering package. My question is, if I add a external transmission and oil cooler to my Yukon will I be able to tow the Max 8400 lbs? Or will I need anything else? Thanks

Just adding a transmission cooler and oil cooler will not increase the towing capacity of your 2014 GMC Yukon. The towing capacity of the vehicle is pretty much set in stone. But adding coolers will certainly be beneficial to you and help protect the transmission and motor for excessive heat.
I recommend a combination cooler # D15902 so that you can have one unit that can be used for both fluids. I also recommend fitting # D13035 to avoid having to cut and flare transmission lines.
Another useful item is a programmer such as # SU2845 (for the 5.3 liter motor). It has a towing tune that will optimize the vehicle for towing. If you have the larger 6.2 liter motor you can use # EP26040.
