Can you tell me if this bumper - diamond plate one fits my truck or do I have to use the $375 or $390 bumper.

The Westin Diamondstep Replacement Bumper with Custom Install Kit, Black Powder Coat, item # 63000-93800, will fit nicely on your 2000 Dodge Dakota as long as your truck is not a Quad Cab (4 Door) model. This bumper is black powder coated with a diamond plate top for sure footing.
You do not have to use the higher priced bumpers (see link) unless you want the added features that they offer, like chrome finish, rubber step pads, or OEM design.
