im installing a trailer brake controller on my 2006 gmc canyon. it has a receiver on the back but no wireing connection, so i put on a flat 4 way plug that pluged into the existing wireing . now lm installing the brake controler. my question is is there wires already under the dash that i can use on the controler or do i have to drill a hole and run wires?

To install a brake controller in your 2006 GMC Canyon will require you to use the part # ETBC7 to convert your 4-way to a 7-way and install the controller. This comes with everything needed to make the swap and install a controller. I attached an install video for a similar Colorado as your Canyon to show you how it would be done.
The P3 part # 90195 that you referenced would be a great choice for a controller as it is basically the nicest one on the market.
