Expert Reply:
The Yakima Skybox NX 16 Carbonite Rooftop Cargo Box # Y95AV is confirmed to fit on the factory crossbars on your 2016 Mazda CX-5. I double checked with Yakima, and they have confirmed the box as a fit for your vehicle's factory crossbars.
You can take a quick measurement on your roof rack to ensure that the cargo box will not interfere with being able to open the rear hatch. As long as the distance from the center of the front crossbar to the closest point of the rear door when open is at least 47 inches, you will be able to fully open your CX-5's rear hatch while the box is loaded.
I've attached a review video of this cargo box for you.
