Will this net secure items on roof top of 2016 Jeep Patriot with factory luggage rack bars? Or do I need to purchase straps as well? Thank you!

Cargo nets are designed to hold things to a cargo basket that has walls. If you wanted to use the part # TH692 to secure something to the roof you would want to first install a cargo basket as well like the # TH859XT which is confirmed as a fit for your 2016 Jeep Patriot factory crossbars.
