Question:
Im trying to determine which equalizer WD hitch I should go with. The GVWR of my trailer is 9600 lbs, the hitch weight is 860 lbs. The gross weight would be near the top end of the 10k lb max system, so should I choose the 12k lb max system? Thanks for your time.

When picking out a weight distribution system the tongue weight figure when loaded is the most important factor.
For 860 lbs of tongue weight the Strait Line system part # RP66084 would be what I recommend. This system has a tongue weight range of 600 to 1,200 lbs and features the only sway control on the market that works to fight sway before it starts. This would be your best solution that I can recommend.
The Equalizer systems work great too, but your tongue weight range falls right into almost a void where there isn't a great system to use. You would either end up with a system rated too low that wouldn't be very effective or one rated too high that would give a harsh ride quality.
For a 2 inch ball you would want part # A-90 and for a 2-5/16 inch ball # 19286.
