Question:
Ordered a Curt Class III Round Tube Receiver Hitch - 2008 Toyota RAV4 and it arrived. Tried to install tonight and the bolt holes are really rusted up. A brush did not clean out the screw in hole enough to get a bolt even started. I was thinking of running a tap through the bolt hole. What size is the bolt? What do you suggest? Thanks

I suggest you try a brass tube brush and a healthy dose of WD40 or PB Blaster on your rusted weld nuts. We also offer a wire brush # DW00254. You may need to use multiple applications of the lubricant, and allow time for it to soak in overnight, before using the brush.
If you use a tap you could alter the fit of the hitch hardware which could affect the hitch's actual capacity, so I recommend using the lubricant/brush several times. Please refer to the linked video and article on hitch installation.
