Question:
I only want the mirror extensions on when towing. Can the extensions be removed/reinstalled easily with a secure fit each time for my 2000 Dodge 2500 Ram truck?

For an easy-to-install and remove towing mirror that attaches to the factory mirrors on your 2000 Dodge Ram 2500 you can use CIPA # CM10500. This towing mirror set works on factory manual mirrors and powered/heated mirrors. If you have powered/non-heated mirrors then instead use part # CTM3100A from Longview.
If you want the widest possible field of view, then you might prefer a door-mount like # 11650. These are sold as a single mirror, not a set, and fit on both sides of your pickup. These allow your stock mirrors to remain in use unchanged. A video for is linked for your review.
