Please give recommendations. I have a Ford F150, 2012year, Trailer 6000 Pounds. I want to buy HydraStar Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator for Disc Brakes - 1,600 psi HBA16. Question I need to buy extra Brake controller or I can use the original in my car.

Hydrastar has confirmed the integrated factory brake controller in the 2012 Ford F-150's to be compatible with the Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator for Disc Brakes # HBA16.

As long as the original brake controller in your F-150 is a factory integrated controller, # HBA16 will work well with it. If the controller was installed as part of an option from the dealer, it will depend on the make and model of the controller. The product page for the # HBA16 has a list of all the aftermarket brake controllers that are compatible.

If you decide you want to go with an aftermarket controller, or you need to update your existing aftermarket controller, I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 # 90885. To easily install this controller on your vehicle, you can use the custom plug-in harness # 22292. This controller is one of the top brake controllers on the market and will work well with the Hydrastar # HBA16.
