Question:

Is there enough room to get the induction signal detector clamps around the individual wires in the bmw harness coil of wires? Is 199250KIT the best option for this vehicle?

For trailer wiring on a vehicle that requires a universal type harness the ZCI part # 119250KIT would be the best kit available since there would be no hardwiring required. The sensors are pretty big, but you should have no problem getting them around the wires of your 2010 BMW X5.

I attached an install video that shows a hardware kit being used to install on a similar X5 as yours that shows you how to find the wires and which to use.

In the video around the 1:07 mark you can see the harness that gets used and there is plenty of room for the ZCI connectors.
