Helpful Expert Reply:
A spacing of 1-inch between the boat's hull and the surface of the carpeted bunks is usually best. This allows enough wiggle room for loading the boat while keeping it in a reasonably snug fit in the bunks. The CE Smith Bunkboard Guide-On Kit # CE27600K75 includes everything but the 2 x 4 lumber you'll use to make the bunks.
