Hello - I am looking at the Curt class III package for my 2013 Silverado. I am shopping for an RV no heavier than 4,000 lbs. so this looks like the right option.....my truck is rated to tow up to 5,500. Question 1 - Good choice? Question 2 - I have a wiring harness terminated right behind the cover on the bumper....I assume the connector with the spring cover in the package will plug right in to that? Or...do I just need a different cover? Question 3 - Is there a standard ball mount I should purchase? My truck is stock with no lift or larger tires etc....it is 4x4 Question 4 - what is the standard Ball size for travel trailers - 2?

Curt trailer hitch # 13322 is an excellent choice for your 2013 Chevy Silverado 1500. the hitch covers the capacity of your truck and is more than enough for he weight of trailer you are looking to tow.
For the wiring you can use # PK11916. The cap that is currently in that location will be removed and replaced with this connector. I have linked videos showing example installations of the hitch and wiring for you.
If you want to use a fixed ball mount then you will want to choose one that has the right amount of rise or drop to tow the trailer level, see link on how to measure. But if you do not know which trailer you are going to get then the best solution is an adjustable ball mount such as # C45900 with up to 6 inches drop or 5-1/4 inches rise. It also comes with a 2 inch and 2-5/16 inch ball.
The 2 inch ball used to be more common but many are going to 2-5/16 inch. That is what is so great about the ball mount listed above; you are covered either way!
