BAKFlip F1 Compatibility with a Ladder Rack for 2015 Ford F-150 with 5-1/2 Foot Bed

I have a ladder rack and tonneau cover recommendation for you, but we have found that the BAKFlip F1 covers don't work well with ladder racks such as the TracRack SR # TH43002XT-508 or # TH43002XT-508EX. The rubber strip on the outside of the tonneau cover many times will not lay flat against the truck bed side rail because it interferes with the base rail for the ladder rack.

The tonneau cover I recommend instead is the BAK Revolver X2 # BAK39329. This cover is a hard, roll up cover that sits inside the truck bed rails far enough that it will not interfere with the ladder rack's base rails. This cover offers the security of a hard cover with the functionality of a roll up cover, and it will work well with the TracRac SR ladder rack.

Ladder racks that mount inside the truck bed rails, such as Thule's, will not work with any tonneau cover. The tonneau needs the inside of the truck bed rails to install the tonneau cover's track. The cover and a ladder rack that installs inside the bed rails would both require the same space on the side rail for installation, which is why they are not compatible with each other.
