Mounting Hole Spacing for Camco Automatic Changeover 2-Stage Propane Regulator CAM59005

Updated 05/17/2016 | Published 05/13/2016

Question:

I would like to replace an outdated changeover 2-stage regulator with the CAM59005. The original aluminum casting which also locks the two tanks together upon which the current changeover/regulator is mounted is 1-1/2inch wide and has three holes: The first two holes are 1-7/8inch OC apart. The next two are 2-5/8inch apart. Can I mount the CAM59005 directly to the casting, or will it be necessary to modify the holes on the casting, or mount an adapter plate of some kind? The camper trailer is a 1976 31foot AirStream Sovereign. From the photos on your website the Cam59005 has holes for four bolts. How do these holes align with the specs Ive sent? Check out the photo I sent...

Expert Reply:

I went out to the warehouse and measured the mounting holes on the 2 stage regulator # CAM59005. They are spaced 3 inches apart on center left to right and approximately 7/8 inches on center front to back. It does sound like some modification will be needed to use this regulator with your current mount.
