Question:

Im looking to purchase the Thule aero 2 th9042 to go with this hitch for my 2015 Genesis awe. Are there any issues with clearance between where it couples with the hitch and the vertical shaft of the hitch? Id like overall confirmation on the compatibility, if possible. Thanks!

Yes, the Thule Helium Aero bike rack, # TH9042PRO, will fit Curt trailer hitch # C12086 and clear the rear of your 2015 Hyundai Genesis AWD sedan. This is my favorite bike rack; not just because it is bursting with features such as upgraded cradles, integrated locks and anti-rattle, and not even because it's aluminum and light weight. I'm a little more superficial than that because the Helium is one darn good-looking bike rack and that's the big reason I like it! I have linked a video of it for you.

Curt also says you have to use stabilization strap # 18050 when using this hitch for any non-trailer load (such as a bike rack or cargo carrier) per their warranty requirements.

If you will be carrying any bikes that do not have a top frame bar that goes straight across (like a typical men's bike would) then I recommend using bike adapter bar # 64005. This will allow you to carry those bikes more level and will provide better ground clearance. I have linked a video showing how the adapter works.
