Rhe Thule Ride-On Adapter part TH532 has been discontinued but will only work with bike carriers. This adapter uses plastic mounting hardware and cannot handle the stress a kayak would have and would fail.

You will need to either install a roof rack designed to be able to handle the weight and stress, or if you have crossbars already on your Tribute you can find a kayak carrier that will fit your crossbars.

If you do not have a kayak carrier and you have factory crossbars on your Tribute, the Ride On Adapter would not be needed and you can use a kayak carrier like part # TH830. This carrier will let you carry up to 4 kayaks on their sides.

For a J-style carrier that will work with factory roof racks on your Tribute I recommend the Thule Hull-A-Port Kayak Carrier w/Tie-Downs, part # TH834.

If you do not have a roof rack on your Tribute but you have the raised side rails I recommend the Thule SquareBar Roof Rack. To order this roof rack you will need part # TH712100, and part # TH710401.

If you have flush mounted rails on the roof of your Tribute I recommend the Inno Square Bar Roof Rack. The crossbars with this roof rack measure 7/8 inches wide x 1-1/4 inch tall. To order this roof rack you will need part # INB107, part # INTR, and part # INTR103.
