Question:

Will this mount inside the ibeam? Inside dimension is about 4. This is a boat trailer.

The mounting surface for Fulton Hi-Mount Spare Tire Carrier # FSTC1000301 is 4 inches wide by 5-1/2 inches tall. You might be able to get it into the inside space of the I-beam frame but it wasn't designed to be mounted that way.

Another option is CE Smith carrier # CE27310G. It will fit frames up to 4 inches tall. I recommend placing blocks of wood to close up the gap of the I-beam frame in the location where you want to mount the carrier and spare. This will just help with more stability for the carrier and won't put all the stress at the 4 bolt locations.
