Is There a Fifth Wheel Rail Kit for a 2015 Ford F-150 that Only Uses 5 Bolts Per Rail
Published 05/04/2016 >
Question:
I recently had a curt fifth wheel hitch installed on my 2015 f150 4x4 with a 51/2 ft. bed I was inspecting it to see about access to the mounting bolts to check tightness, what I found was that the installer had only 4 points mounted to the frame via the brackets, the two center bolts for the rails were only thru the bed with a flat square washer. Is this common for this type of mounting? The hitch is a curt Q16

Actually what you described is perfectly normal for a 4-bolt fifth wheel rail setup. The center bolt setup also struck me as odd when I first learned about it, but it's perfectly safe as long as the kit you had installed is a 4-bolt rail kit.
The Reese kit part # RP50087-58 is a 4 bolt rail kit designed for your vehicle that would install exactly like you described.
