Question:

Hi I am looking for a replacement trailer brake actuator and brake line kit for a 1988 shore landr. Its a tandem axle w drum brakes. The boat it carries is 4500 pounds dry. The measurement from the current actuator to front axle is 16 feet and width is 79 inches. Thanks

Surge actuator/couplers for drum brakes are shown on the linked page. You'll choose a new one by selecting the tongue weight capacity you need. You'll also click on the ball size you need, your preferred lockout (none, manual or electric) and the type of trailer tongue, straight or a-frame. The linked article should be helpful in determining what type you have on the trailer now.

You may be able to find part numbers and/or capacities listed on the existing coupler to help you select the replacement.

For example, for a 7K multi-ball coupler with electric lockout that bolts on to a straight tongue use Titan # T43397007K and # T4748800.
