Would Turning Clearance be Affected with the Stromberg Carlson Bike Bunk Adapter and Truck Camper

Updated 04/29/2016 | Published 04/27/2016

Question:

Ive been trying to get through to you by phone for 2 days but your system seems to be down I have a Chevy Silverado with a canopy that I use to tow our TT. If I mount the Stromberg Carlton CC-275 on the trailer with a two bike rack, are the bikes likely to hit the canopy during a turn? I havent been able to find anyone who uses the bike bunk along with a canopy, but photos of bikes on it look like they would be extremely close.

Whether or not the # CC-275 would cause turning interference with your trailer and the camper shell will be determined by several dimensions that you would need to consider. I wish I could tell you with certainty that it would fit or not but I can't without knowing more info. You would need to consider how many bikes you plan to carry and the length of the bike rack, the widths of the bikes, how much clearance you have in front of the trailer to the center of the ball hole on the coupler. This will end up taking some visualization as well.

Since you have a camper shell there is a pretty good chance you would have at least some of your turning range limited unless the a-frame portion of your trailer is longer than usual. You would need to have the bunk orientated so that it is as far back as possible too.
