Question:

Recommendation for a 2014 Ford Fusion 4 door. I am looking at the Thule 3 Trunk Mount. TH78VR. My car has a spoiler on it. It is a lease vehicle so I can not use a hitch mount. I appreciate your advice.

I did some checking and most trunk mounted racks, including those from Thule and Yakima, are not recommended for your 2014 Ford Fusion because the vehicle is unable to support the weight at the point where the carriers must be placed.

But Hollywood Racks does have an option; the Over-the-Top rack # HRF2-3. When installing this rack the top and side attachments use the standard hooks and the bottom requires the use of special anchors (included with the bike rack).

We have some videos featuring this rack but none on a sedan like your 2014 Ford Fusion so installation won't be exactly the same.

If you will be carrying any bikes that do not have a top frame bar that goes straight across (like a typical men's bike would) then I recommend using bike adapter bar # 64005. This will allow you to carry those bikes more level and will provide better ground clearance. I have linked a video showing how the adapter works.
