Question:

Hi, I am looking for wheel bearing parts for routine maintenance to my Carry-On 6foot X 10foot ft. utility trailer. The axle has a Dexter sticker with following information. 3K8874, serial # 212285515 Can you help me identify which seals, bearings, and other parts will match? Thanks.

The best way to find the correct parts for your trailer axle is to remove a hub and look for the part numbers on the bearings and race. I have attached a drawing that shows where the numbers can typically be found on those components.

If you are unable to find the numbers you will need to measure the spindle in the locations where the bearing ride the spindle and also the inside diameter of the hub. Since the measurement needs to be as accurate as possible you will need a digital caliper like part # PTW80157.
