Question:
I bought a used Ford F250 XLT extended cab, Long Bed, 5 speed trans manual, 4x4, 460 cid engine. The rails are already mounted to the bed, and they look like the rails on the E16 C16116 5th wheel kit. Can I get the 5th wheel seperate? And how can I be sure the 5th wheel will mount to my rails.

You sure can buy a fifth wheel hitch separate for your truck. If the base rails in your truck bed are industry standard then we have several different hitches you can choose from. I have attached a photo of the dimensions for fifth wheel rails when they are installed you can check out. You can simply check out the dimensions of the rails in the truck to see if they match.
If you find the rails you have are industry standard you can check out the link I have attached to the product page for the fifth wheel hitches that would work with your truck. You would need to select the hitch you need based on the weight of the trailer you plan on towing.
If you find the rails are not industry standard, I recommend installing the universal installation kit, part # RP30035.
