Can the Thule T2 Pro X Still Be a Tilting Rack for Access with the 2-Bike Extension and Bikes Loaded
Updated 04/08/2016 | Published 04/06/2016 >
Question:
When you install the add on for 2 extra bikes making 4 total, can you still tilt the rack down to gain entry to the back of the hatch? If not, do the comparable Kuat or Yakima hitch mount 4 bike tray racks offer that?

Yes, when you add-on the 2 extra bikes with the Thule T2 Pro # TH83GC to the 2-bike Extension # TH55GC you will still be able to tilt the rack down to gain entry to the hatch.
I spoke to my Thule representative and he told me that although you can do it that they don't typically recommend it since the bikes and the rack can weight up to 200lbs going up as well as coming down, which is quite a bit of weight to support for just one person. This is really a two-person job.
